April 15, 2005 Teaching tipOne way to check your students' understanding of class materials is to ask for response to multiple-choice questions after a content presentation. A problem or question can be posed, with students answering individually or as small groups. Electronic personal response systems ("clickers") can tabulate responses instantly. Low-tech response methods -- color-coded or lettered placards or even a show of hands -- also can help obtain quick feedback. |
